Brief
Wilo Türkiye aimed to implement a comprehensive social responsibility project to support the professional and personal development of female engineering students. The project aimed to increase the representation of women in male-dominated fields such as engineering and contribute to building a sustainable future. Through this project, Wilo wanted to turn its commitment to gender equality into a tangible action and create a strong impact among the media, industry representatives, and young women aspiring to become engineers.
Solution
To ensure the success of the project, we developed a comprehensive communication strategy. Building on the idea that a joint project with our partner BPW Istanbul would create a greater impact, we set out with a strong collaboration.
As a first step, we launched the project on International Women’s Day, March 8, delivering a strong message on gender equality. Through press releases and simultaneous communications across media channels, we reached the program’s target audience and launched the application process. The 22 young female engineering candidates selected for the program were matched with EMCC-accredited mentors from BPW Istanbul.
Throughout the program, mentoring sessions, self-awareness training, career planning sessions, and industry knowledge-sharing activities were held. Regular feedback sessions and inspiring seminars were also organized to keep participants motivated. In addition, we shared every stage of the project across media and social platforms, highlighting Wilo’s commitment to gender equality while increasing the project’s visibility.
Results
The “Wilo Bridge to the Future” project was successfully completed. The 22 young female engineers who completed the program received their certificates at a graduation ceremony held at Wilo Türkiye headquarters. The ceremony was an emotional event where participants shared their experiences and mentors also took part.
The project received extensive media coverage, once again highlighting Wilo’s commitment to gender equality. Through the program, participants gained confidence, enhanced their industry knowledge, and clarified their career goals. With this project, Wilo not only contributed to the development of female engineers but also inspired other organizations across the industry.
The Bridge to the Future project will continue contributing to stronger representation of women in engineering and to building a sustainable future.
Bridge to the Future, Bridge to Equality.
